Michael was an amazing person and wish I could have had the oportunity to know him now that I am an adult. I wanted to share my two favorite stories of my cousin. First would be the infamous Bronco game. He was so into the game that my brother and I were a little nervous to interupt him so we were hanging out waiting for the game to end (we were just little kids). The Broncos must have dropped an important pass or something becuase all of a sudden we heard this very loud yell from the other room followed by a swear word we had never heard before. Poor Micheal was so embarresed but we couldn't help but laugh becuase we had never expected THAT to come out of such a nice,well-mannered person. The other story that I will never forget were his lessons on pillow fighting. My brother and I still to this day brag about our increadable abilities to swing a pillow all thanks to our cousin, Michael. He was great with my brother and I as little kids and am so thankful that I had the opportunity to get to know him while he lived in Califonia. You are in my thoughts always Michael.

My condolences to the Lewandowski family on the loss of Michael. I met Mike back in the 90's while we were both attending The Evergreen State College. We lived on the 9th floor of the same building as freshman and we came to know each other due to this. We weren't best friends or anything, but I would say he was a friend. He turned me (further) onto punk music and I still can recall just what a great person he was to be around.

I found this site because I just started thinking about Michael and turned to the internet to see what I could find out about him since we had last seen each other. I am greatly saddened to learn of Michael's passing.

If there was anything I could say to him now, I think it would just be a simple "thank you". Thanks for allowing me into your life. Thanks for playing pool with me at the bottom of A-Dorm. Thanks for trying to get me to eat all the weird food combos you came up. Thanks for just being a genuinely good person, someone I KNEW I could trust. I regret that we didn't keep in touch, especially now that I know what happened to him. You will be missed.

Hello, I found your site while surfing the net about brain tumors. My son is 16 years old and was diagnosed with a brainstem glioma on May 8th, 2008. He has been doing really good. The reason for my note is "Nathan" is traveling as I type, with his high school church group, to snowboard/ski this Friday and Saturday(JAN.23&24) at Winter Park. I told him about your fundraiser and told him to try and stop in at the lodge to say hello and thank you to all who are raising money for brain cancer.
Thank you for all you are doing,
Monica Waggoner (Nathan's mom)

Hi Allen and Carol, we didn't know Michael except through you and each January are reminded that we should have known him. We think of you often. Fondly, Francie and Rod

I have so many stories about Michael, but I'll just share this one for now. Michael was a counselor for me up at Shwayder Camp, and always a favorite. Everyone loved him! One summer, near the end of camp, I found out that he had decided to take his boys up to the Reservoir and go skinny dipping! Needless to say, this was not exactly our policy ... but part of me could only laugh, because he was crazy enough - and good hearted enough - to pull it off. Literally.
